Guess the Year Game is a browser-based quiz. Playing does not require an account, email address, uploaded files, or payment details. Optional question submissions are handled separately below.
Local storage
The site stores game progress and recent scores on your device so you can refresh the page and keep playing. This data stays on your device unless you clear browser storage.
User-created challenge links
The game maker stores the text-based game pack inside the generated URL. The first version does not upload, review, or save user-created clues on a server. Do not put private personal data, secrets, copyrighted lyrics, copied scripts, or sensitive information into a challenge link.
Questions submitted for review
When you submit a question, its title, clue, answer year, category, source note and optional nickname are sent to the site and stored in Cloudflare D1 for editorial review, together with a submission identifier and timestamp. These records are not publicly listed. Submitting does not automatically publish your question. Avoid including private personal information. An unconfirmed submission draft may also remain in this browser until a receipt is confirmed or you clear site data. Use the contact page for questions or deletion requests and include your receipt identifier rather than private information.
Analytics and ads
The site may use Google Analytics when a public measurement ID is configured. Advertising slots are reserved for future sponsor or ad network code, but the game does not load real ad code.
